Pudendal Nerve Neuralgia

This is pain caused by damage to or irritation of the pudendal nerve. It manifests as pain in the perineum, genital area, or around the anus. The pain is often burning, stabbing, or shooting, worsening when sitting and improving when standing or lying down. Causes may include nerve compression between the pelvic muscles or ligaments, trauma, surgical procedures in the pelvic area, or childbirth. It may be accompanied by numbness, increased sensitivity, or discomfort during urination, bowel movements, or sexual intercourse.
