Pain in the stump following limb amputation

This is pain felt in the remaining part of the amputated limb. It may be related to wound healing, pressure from the prosthesis, soft tissue irritation, a neuroma, bone changes, or a previous infection. The pain is usually localized and may intensify when touching the stump, wearing a prosthesis, or moving.
