Pain caused by a spinal fracture

This is pain that occurs when one or more vertebrae fracture, most often due to osteoporosis or trauma, and less commonly due toa neoplastic process. The pain usually begins suddenly and is of moderate to severe, well-localized, and worsens with movement, standing, or sitting. If fractures recur, the shape of the spine may change and chronic back pain may develop.
