Joint pains

This is pain that comes from structures in the joint – cartilage, joint capsule, ligaments or surrounding tissue. It can be caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatic diseases, trauma, overload or degenerative changes. Joint pain can be acute or chronic and can significantly limit daily activities. Once the cause of the pain is properly identified, treatment includes medication, physiotherapy, intra-articular injections (corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid) and, if indicated, radiofrequency ablation of the joint nerves or other interventional procedures.
