This is a pain syndrome caused by compression or irritation of the nerves in the buttock region. It is most commonly felt in the buttocks but can radiate to the hip area, the back of the thigh, or down the leg, and is sometimes accompanied by numbness or a burning sensation. This condition can be confused with lumbar radiculopathy or other back-related problems.
