Myelopathic pain

This is pain caused by damage to the spinal cord. Causes may include narrowing of the spinal canal, intervertebral disc disorders, trauma, infection, tumors, or vascular malformations. Symptoms include pain, numbness, and weakness in the limbs; gait disturbances, impaired fine motor skills, or pelvic organ dysfunction may also occur. The pain is often burning or stabbing and may affect a wide area of the body below the level of the lesion.
